Illinois Interactive Report Cards:

The Illinois Interactive Report Cards presents results of state academic performance tests for all public schools and districts in Illinois for the years 1999-2008 in easy-to-understand graphs and tables.

The Illinois Standards Achievement Test (ISAT): The ISAT covers reading and mathematics in grades 3 through 8, science in grades 4 and 7, and writing in grades 5, 6, 8, and 11. Writing, which is being reintroduced, will also be administered in grade 3 beginning in 2009.

Since 2006 the ISAT testing of reading and mathematics has been scored on a common scale for all grades. This "equating" process affords a more reliable measure of student learning that is comparable from year to year over time.

User tips: to see ISAT results, select your school or school district using the search options on the IIRC home page, then select the "Test Results" tab on the school or district profile page and select "ISAT". Remember, only elementary or middle schools will have ISAT results. For test results for high schools, consult the information on the Prairie State Achievement Examination (PSAE).

The Prairie State Achievement Examination (PSAE): The PSAE assessment measures the performance of high school students in grade 11 in reading, mathematics, writing and science. The PSAE include three components: 1. ACT assessments of English, reading, mathematics, writing and science; 2. an ISBE-developed science assessment, and 3. two WorkKeys assessments, Reading for Information and Applied Mathematics. The WorkKeys assessments are designed to measure workplace readiness. The PSAE writing test was restored in 2007.

User tips: to see PSAE results for your high school or district, select a high school using the search options on the IIRC home page, then select the "Test Results" tab on the school or district profile page and select "PSAE." Remember, only high schools will have PSAE testing results.

The Illinois Measure of Annual Growth in English (IMAGE):
Until 2007, the IMAGE assessment was given to Illinois students with limited English proficiency to measure their academic progress in reading English and in mathematics. The tests were administered to qualifying students in grades 3 thru 8 and 11. Beginning in 2008, limited English proficient students will take the ISAT with appropriate accommodations, not IMAGE. A new assessment for English language learners is being developed for release in 2010. Until that time, English language learners will continue to take ISAT and PSAE with allowed accommodations.
