Mrs Frieden’s Kindergarten worked on building CVC words with large letter cards today. Mrs Frieden would read the word they needed to spell and they were responsible for spelling it in the right order.
It is amazing to see the growth in these Kindergarten students since school started, they are working hard and it is paying off!

South School is unbelievably lucky to have the Little Braves Boosters to partner up with for events like today's Fall Family Fest.🎃🎃

Recently the Pittsfield Fire Department visited South and taught their annual fire prevention lessons. Students reviewed fire safety tips and learned about various types of fire equipment.
We are fortunate to have volunteer firefighters willing to take time out of their schedules to support student safety.

South School's 1st grade students recently finished a reading unit titled From Your Nose to Your Toes: How Your Body Works. To complete the unit the students and teachers welcomed Dr. Kendra Conkright and her nurse Racheal to help teach them about staying healthy. This included teaching the students how to properly wash their hands and answering many student questions about staying healthy.
South School would like to give a big thank you to Dr. Conkright and Nurse Racheal for taking time out of their schedules to be with us last week. We are always grateful when members of the community work with us to provide meaningful learning opportunities for our Little Braves.

So many important learning opportunities were on display today at South School.
A few examples include Mrs. Rhodes' Kindergarten students working with letters and letter sounds as well as using problem solving skills to create different types of structures during station time.
Additionally, Mrs. Davis' First Grade students learned about primary colors and began a fall project that included painting student drawn pumpkins with primary colors.

Mrs. Williams' preschool students welcomed Fall by incorporating apples into their classroom in a variety of ways. A few of the favorites include taste testing apples, working with apple cinnamon scented play dough, 'cooking' with apples in the play kitchen, and adding apple trees to the block area.

South School welcomed all of our Kindergarten Little Braves today. It was a great day!

A big South School shout out to Miss Crebo! She is one of our amazing new teachers at South School and she spent her day by focusing on process and procedures. This is a tried and true way to see the stage for a great year where the students are always aware of the expectations.

Today is the last day of in person registration at South School! As a reminder - all bus riders need a current transportation form on file in order to be assigned to a bus route.
You may contact South School and request a packet be left in the office for pick up if necessary.
Thank you,
Mrs. Allen

The South School staff wants to say a big thank you to the Little Braves Boosters! This year they have chosen one day a month for staff appreciation and spoiled us with a variety of amazing gifts. For May they outdid themselves by supplying every staff member with a new South School tshirt in honor of Teacher Appreciation Week. We are beyond blessed to have such a supportive group at South.❤️❤️

A big thank you to the PHS FFA for inviting South School to their Petting Zoo!
